King's rises in Times Higher Education Reputation rankings

King’s is today celebrating a significant improvement in its position in the Times Higher Education World Reputation Rankings 2015, rising from 43rd in the world to 31st.

London and Paris each have five universities in the top 100, though London has four in the top 40.

The reputation-only rankings are a subsidiary of the annual THE World University Rankings, published in the autumn. The 2015 reputation rankings are based on the world’s largest invitation-only survey of academic opinion, featuring 10,500 respondents from 142 countries.

The survey, now carried out by THE in partnership with Elsevier, attracted almost 70,000 responses from senior, published scholars, providing a rich and unique insight into the academic prestige of universities across the globe.

President & Principal, Professor Edward Byrne AC, said: ‘This is further evidence that King’s is going from strength to strength and is consolidating its position as one of the world’s top universities. London remains one of the most prestigious, popular and exciting of the global cities in which to study.’
